Call for Papers

In 2015, during the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations, the 2030 Agenda was born, signed by the heads of state and government of the 193 UN member states during the UN Summit on Sustainable Development. This Agenda includes the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In the UN 2030 Agenda, access to information was recognized as a goal in Sustainable Development Goal 16:Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels: «Goal 16.10: Ensure people’s access to information and protect fundamental freedoms, in accordance with national legislation and international agreements.»

Since Information Science is a field that studies, manages and organizes means of information dissemination and use, it is essential and irreplaceable in the cause of sustainability, and should contribute to meeting the informational needs of a sustainable society. The lack of quality information can have disastrous effects either by the inability to anticipate problems, to understand them, or to solve them.

The event, which will take place online, via Zoom platform, whose link we will announce soon, intends to provide a space for sharing and disseminating research developed in this thematic area.

Instructions for authors

Submission guidelines for oral and poster modalities

Final paper submission

  • The deadline for paper submission is December 9th 2021.
  • All papers must be submitted and presented in portuguese and english.
  • Abbreviations should be defined the first time they appear in your text. Example: HEI (Higher Education Institutions), before being used as an abbreviation only. Please note that you cannot define or use abbreviations in the title.
  • Please avoid complex formulas. For the symbols ≤ or ≥, type instead <= or >=.
  • Tables, charts or other graphics may not be included and will be deleted by the editors.
  • Abstracts may not have more than 3500 characters including spaces and less than 900 characters including spaces.
  • Authors should indicate their presentation preference: oral or poster.
  • After having registered as an author, you will receive a confirmation by email with your login and password codes.
  • Authors will have their personal access and password codes send to them, in order to manage, edit, etc. their papers.
  • After registering your paper, you will receive an email with your text ID.
  • If you encounter any problems during the submission process or you do not receive any confirmation by email , please contact the person responsible for this procedure Senior Lecturer José Agostinho Pinto to the following email : apinto@iscap.ipp.pt.
  • If you wish to make any corrections to an already submitted text or if you wish to submit other papers, you should use your personal access codes.
  • Corrections to texts can only be made until the deadline: December 9th 2021.
  • Notification of acceptance / rejection of submitted texts will be sent by email by December 11th, 2021.
  • The final paper length should be between 5 to 10 pages (including references). The template of the Final Paper is available in the templates section.
  • A paper should contain the description of your study and should be structured in different sections such as: Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusions and References.
  • The references should be cited according to the Bibliography and Citation Style.
  • Contributions will only be published in the XV CTDI Meeting Proceedings if at least one of the authors of the paper is registered before December 9th 2021. (included)

Oral presentation instructions

  • Presentations must be delivered in portuguese and english.
  • Each presentation is 15 minutes long. We strongly recommend dedicating 12 minutes to the presentation and 3 minutes to open discussion.
  • The following points should be taken into consideration when preparing your oral presentation:
  • Ensure that you are available at least 30 minutes before the session starts on the day of the conference.
  • The recommended software to be used is PowerPoint.
  • Speakers are requested to upload their presentation on to the session PC 15 minutes before the start of the session.
  • All presenters will be introduced to the audience by the session chair.

Poster presentation instructions

  • All posters should be written and presented in portuguese and english, the languages accepted for this event.
  • Poster sessions will provide an opportunity for authors to display the results and conclusions of their papers.
  • Posters will be listed by session in the Conference Programme and Proceedings.
  • Authors should present their poster for 10 minutes during the session to answer any questions from the audience.
  • Please, ensure that you are available 15 minutes before your poster session starts.
